Post HELP! Why would my horn would be in the spot where my CAI bolts onto the car?

I have a 99 TL.

I tried to install the CAI but I realized that the AEM pipe that comes out of the throttle body is supposed to bolt onto my car right where my horn is located. My horn is bolted onto the shock tower.

The only thing I could think of is when I had my alarm installed, they moved the horn.

Who has a 99 that can verify that for me?

I just noticed that Acura-TLs looks the same. His is a 99 too. Here's a pic.

BTW the horn is on the right shock tower

this side ------> See it? It's the round black thing above the battery.

Can you put the bracket in between the body and the horn? Or you can try to relocate the horn to the hole slightly to the right. Just a thought.

That isn't your actual horn. That's the one that makes the beep sound for your alarm. I unplugged mine and removed it when I installed the intake.

Sorry I took so long to respond. Been out hunting IS300s.

Well since I have an aftermarket alarm, the factory alarm beep does not work anymore so I simply removed the horn. I did leave the bracket that holds some kind of electrical connector. I just put the AEM bushing bolt through it. Works great.

Man NSXNEXT I can't believe you didn't know that with your bad asss TL!? I'm disappointed in you
Get some engine pics with the CAI. Did you also bypass the '99's mini-radiator near the resonator?

I know, I was brain dead last night. 6 hours on a plane back from Ft Lauderdale and I still wanted to install my CAI.

I actually had a short ram before this, it was the Ractive with the Home Depot rubber elbow. There are pics of it from someone in the Gallery. I had already removed the stock airbox and fixed the little radiator problem before.

I guess I didn't realize what that horn did because I had my Clifford installed like a month after I got my car.

I removed my "little" horn after I got my Clifford. BTW - our horns are located behind the grill, right below the hood release lever, in front of the radiator. There are two of them
