I jacked the front side of the car and put jack stands underneath. I then pulled the splash guard down and located the two bolts holding the resonator in place. I could not get myself and the ratchet in a position to loosen the bolts. Is there any easier way to do this, possibly from in the hood?

 

take the front bumper off its about the easest way

 

taking out the resonator without taking off the bumper is like.....eating salad through a straw

I took off my resonator a few weeks ago. Don't get intimidated with the bumper removal. It was pretty easy. With the bumper off you should have no problems taking out the resonator.
