Exclamation Help! Tranny Problem Gone to Worst

I really need some advice. I've bought a 2002 TL-S in 01, and have had moderate problems. One tranny replacement, check engine lights come on occasionaly etc.

Well I was driving today on a road curving to the right - moderate acceleration. As the car was trying to shift to 3rd, I felt lagging and a sudden jerk. The jerk was followed by the noise of screeching tires and I lost control of the car. The car slide left, and as I try recover it slide to the right and slammed into the concrete slabs that line the right side on the road (they were like the dividers in the middle of a freeway).

I've been following this website for a whil(looking at mods), and I think this is probably one of the worst tranny situations. First of all, I'm pretty sure it was strictly the trannies fault. I do have a witness who is willing to make a statement. Do any of you guys know what I should do?

Do I talk to the dealer?
Is it worth getting a lawyer?
This really can't be my fault, will it jack up my insurance?

I would really appreciate some input on this situation,

Thank You

If you were in full auto and let the tranny downshift while the tires' traction was at their limits, then yes that could cause the tires to break loose from the road. was the shift to 3rd an upshift or a "passing" downshift?
The biggest indicator in your problem will be the current condition of your tranny, did it fail? or maybe a faulty hiccup that will be impossible to prove?

sorry to hear about your wreck and good luck at a resolve.

I am very sorry to hear of this, and Im glad that your alright and no one got hurt. That being said, I would defenitely first talk to your dealer first, which in my book isn't going to get you no where, they sure will repalce your tranny though, then call up ACURA and complain about how their product just put you and yrou family in grave danger on the road, somethign that is not tolerable from a car company such as Honda/Acura. They will also problaby treat you like sh!!t.

After all this then I would get a lawyer, and set up a free consultation with him, and discuss what legal option you might have. Get a couple of opnions btw. Then take it from there. Honda/Acura has know about this problem for a long time, but they are playing the ignorance card a lot of times and lot of dealers are refusing to replace trannies in their early failure stages, and one day someone is going to get seriously hurt due to these malpractices in business.

We need someone's story to stir up a big case so that Honda/Acura can aknowledge this tremondous safety issue. One of the members maybe even more than 2, have gotten a new car as a result of tranny failures but I think that is after 3 tranny failures under the lemon law. Honda/Acura is a tough company to shake.

All in all, Im glad no one got hurt. That is what's most important, cars can be replaced.

I dont see how this should have anythign to do with anything. Faulty hiccup or not, I mean that type of stuff shouldnt happen to the point where it puts lives in danger and ultimately causes an accident you get what I mean? But I do understand what your saying.

I believe it was shifting from 2nd to 3rd, there wasn't to much stress on the car traction-wise - I couldn't have been going any more that 35-40 mph, the road curve wasn't sharp, it was like a freeway curve.
