Help....tires rubbing!
Hi everyone...
I just bought new wheels....225/40/18 and everytime I'm packing two people in the back, it rubs when I'm driving (only the back rubs). I have the H & R sport drop. Can anyone help me with this problem? I try to look at where it could be rubbing and can't figure out.....is it the fender....cause it doesn't have any plasic covering like the front does.
Thanks!

before messin with your fenders check to see if it is rubbing on the rear bumper part of your fender , mine did that and i had to trim it to match the size of the body fender , the body fender is like 1/2 inch wide but the rear bumper part of the fender in like more than a inch wide, once i trimed it , i had no more rubbing!!
thats when i had the 18 x 7.5 with 42 offset
with 235/40/18's

I would say its most likely the rear that's rubbing. I have 40 offset 7.5" wheels that did rub but I had the rear fenders rolled by a body shop on the entire arch and that took care of the rubbing and I'm only dropped on the HR OE springs.
They did a great job and it's a smooth even roll across the entire arch - you would never think it had been modified. I emphasize smooth because just in case I were to ever dip that low again, the edge of the inner fender would not damage the tire if they were to meet.
I'd post pix but I'm getting a new tranny right now so car's at the dealer.

You probably need to have the fenders rolled. I have 18x7" +42mm offset and 225/45/18 tires. The bumper's been trimmed, but the metal fenders are still scrapping the tires' sholders. Nobody seems to have problems with the front provided that the wheels are not too wide and the offset is not too wild.
