Since I haven't personally done this install yet, I can only assume that unplugging the dash, without disconnecting the battery first, triggered the light and you may need acura to reset it.

This has happened to me and many Hondas.
Did you disconnect your battery? If so, for how long?? If the battery is unpluged for a lengthy amount of time. (30 mins maybe less) it triggers something in the computer. Basically you need to reset the SRS. PITA if you don't know what you're doing. Especially if you try to do it yourself, cross the wrong wires, and BOOM....airbags in your face.
There are many ACURA HONDA specialist that will reset this for you for about $35.
I'd let them do it.

Let me guess, u must have turned on the ignition while ur gauge cluster was unplugged?? If so, u will have to take it to thedealer and just tell them it comes on itself. They'll run a test for u and turn the indicator off for u...
If it just happened itself, u didn't turn on the ignition, (not necessary start the engine, as long as u connect the power.) then I have no idea.. but that was what happened to me!

wouldn't they know when they see the indiglo gauges? my helm manual says that you can do it but with a special little device that connects to one of the cables. i don't want to be charged for this quick and easy reset..

nope, my needles don't get stuck at all simply because i took off the needles by accident when i installed them. And I just didn't push them in as far as possible so that the gap between the needle base and the gauge is pretty big (see the second pic above). But you have to recalibrate the needles by putting the gauges back and start the car and play around with the needles a bit.
i guess i will visit my dealer on monday then. hopefully it won't take too long
