HELP!!!! Shifting Gears

My car will not shift out of park. I put the key in the ignition, let the engine run a bit, put my foot on the brake and take my gear from Park to Drive. The problem is the gear handle will not release to change gears. It seems as if its jammed, stuck.

I need to get my steering wheel pump replaced does this have anything to do with causing it not to shift out of park???

PLEASE HELP!!!!

Its either a fuse or the brake light sensor. most likely thats teh problem. No it has nothing to do with teh PS pump. Use your key and the little spot on the side of the shifter to release teh shift lock to get it out of gear

brake light swith
when it goes out your brake lights do not work so have some one in the car step on the brake pedal and see if the lights come on .if not replace the brake light switch .... yes this does prevent the shift interlock from working....

Yes i posted it above. There is the shift lok over ride on the side of your shifter. Pop teh small tab up a inset a key (any) and move teh shifter into desired gear
