HELP from SFL owners

I had a little incident the other day avoiding a lady that ran a light. I avoided the crash but jumped the median, blew 3 tires, and of course scracthed the hell out of my rims. Now I put four brand new tires, went to align it and they tell me that the passanger side ball joint is messed up. Of course this is not a $20 pieces. So I did not align it waiting to see how I can resolve the issue. I did have alignment problems when I first got the car, so that means that it is on my car's history. I have 9000 miles on my 03 tls and would like to see how to get this covered under warranty. this is where I need your help! I cannot take my car into the dealer with my two front rims scratched since they will know I hit the car, messing up the ball joints. I was looking for someone that has aftermarket rims on their TL and their stock rims just sitting around that I might be able to borrow for a couple of days while I take the car to the dealer. Yes I know, this is a huge favor but I will not run with your stock rims and tires. If anyone would like to help me out, feel free to contact me at hgiljr@yahoo.com. Thanks

So let me get this straight. Basically, you are trying to screw the dealership and have them perform work on your car for something that you did to it. Unless the the dealer was notified of the alignment problems from before your accident and they didn't do anything about it, I can't imagine someone could even think about such a plan. I know the accident wasn't your fault, and believe me I have been in similar situations before, but that doesn't mean you should screw the dealer / Acura. By posting what you did, I can't even imagine why someone would trust you enough to let you borrow his / her tires and believe that you won't "run with the stock rims and tires." I'm sorry if I offend anyone, but this is outrageous and I just had to post after reading it. You should pursue other options, hgiljr.

Yes you are correct about being my fault but do not become an innocent person here. I am not screwing the dealer here. They will get paid by Honda for the service. By the way, the dealer screws us all the time esp. everytime they charge you for a service or sell a car, what are you going to tell me that they are fair and tell you straight out what they making? NOPE! If someone wants to help me i would appreciate, I do not have any plans to run with your rims.

HGil,

I'd help you out if I could, but I'm in Canada.

Don't listen to anyone getting sanctimonious about screwing a dealer. Those guys would throw their mother into a deal if they thought it would help them make a sale.

Acura dealers are especially obnoxious. I made the mistake of giving one my business card, he showed up to my office the next day with papers to sign, as if we had some sort of agreement.

Sorry can't help ya, man.

Do you have comprehensive insurance? Rather then getting the dealer to fix it, have insurance take care of it.

Also, ball joints can take a lot of impact--they might get suspicious if you tell them that you have a "damaged balljoint"

either way, best of luck

If you can screw the dealer. DO IT!!!! The dealer will screw you whenever they can, so do it back. $80 a hr for labor that is taking it raw without any vaseline. That is my 2cents.
