Help!!! Scratched the beautiful rim on curb! How to fix???
I can't believe it but as I tried to avoid a huge exposed manhole cover in a parking lot, I scratched my rim on a tall rough, concrete curb! SH*T!!!!!!
Please anyone? how can i fix that? I have the 02 TL-P so you guys know how shiny, smooth and reflective that aluminum looks but there's a huge 2-3 inch scratch on the side of the rim that is really noticible!
It's all dull, scratched up and rough now...help ... :o(

I did the same a few weeks ago on a concrete curb, I feel your pain :-( I got a new set of rims anyway, but any decent wheel shop should be able to do the repair for $50-75. I'm not a big fan of the way the stock wheels stick out, I've also noticed a lot of cricular scratches, probably from small pebbles kicked up on the road.

I found a local shop in my area and pay $75 and exchange for a new one. www.capitalwheels.com

I did that too, and put some bad rash marks on my rim. I just sanded it down myself and it looks a lot better. Its just a temporary solution, however, till I buy a new rim.

I did that pretty recently as well, and it just pissed me off!!! My TL is less than 2 months old, and I've now got a large scratch right at the edge where it begins to meet the tire.
I have to admit - I've been somewhat embarrassed to take it to a wheel place, simply because I don't even have plates yet!!! And then I don't know if she was trying to make me feel better or what, but my girlfriend just scratched her rim on her '00 Accord in almost the exact same spot!
My question is how the warranty comes into play. I mean, I know it won't cover the scratch - but I want the make sure the alignment is okay - there's a very faint humming noise at cruising speeds now. If I get it fixed at a wheel shop, can I take it to the dealer and ask about the humming? Or will they not look at it because of what I've done to the wheel? I didn't state that very well, but you understand what I'm talking about, right?
Also, stupid question, but can you buy just 1 new rim? What's it cost?
Thanks....and sorry bro - feeling your pain as well...

If the dealer sees damage on your rim, they will not fix your alignment or any other problems that you have that could have resulted from your mishap. I did the same thing and the dealer refused to fix my alignment under waranty.

I waited until I have three badly scratched rims before I chose the replacement route. Then I purchased 4 used rims right off of here: acura-tl.com and/or acura-cl.com; for cheap.
So my bad rims as snow-tire rims right here: acura-tl.com and/or acura-cl.com
Didn't trust the repair, there were no guarantees that it would look "like new". Why pay $75 for a fixed rim when you can get a new one for <$100?
I planned my whole deal over several months purchasing tires and rims and selling used/unwanted stuff and end up keeping a spare rim/tire just in case. Now I drive with rims that look brand new which is a lot better than this:
