Post Help on rubber

I'm thinking about getting Yokohama AVS Sport 235/35YR19s. Anyone have a better suggestion?

Can anyone help me figure out what this tirerack warranty means?

Found these on tires.com:
http://www.discounttiredirect.com/me...re.value=40167

The price alone kinda makes me wonder... Nittos or Yokohamas...

The Yokohamas are Max Performance (relatively quiet, handles relatively great even in wet conditions, etc)...

The Nittos are $144 cheaper...

I dunno how they'd do uniformity warranty cuz what if you don't get an alignment after you drop your car or you got a serious camber problem? I bet they just do that on stock suspensions...

Replacement rating is if like the tire comes apart and other stuff due to defects. Road hazard is like you run over something then get a blow out.

Aha, thanks 1999TL... so pretty much those warranties suck! I think the uniformity warranty would still fly if I proved a correct alignment before I put the tires on. I still haven't gotten an alignment since I put on springs!

Shyne, all I find on tires.com in 235/35ZR19 is the Nittos. Post a link?

Highly recommended but hella expensive.

I agree. Also I hear Bridgestone Potenza S-02 Pole Position are good.

I am thinking I'll have to go with the Nittos since I know I'll be pretty much running through rubber. When they wear out, if I really don't like the Nittos, or maybe if I have the extra cash, I'll try a better tire.

Someone was making me hella nervous about how easy it is to bend 19s with 35 series tires.

It is easy to bend rims with 35's. You're going to get a bumpy ride b/c I'm sure you'd rather put a high ass PSI on them rather than bend them. I run with a 43 on my 18's.

I'd say you can't go wrong with the Pirelli's.

I've had my Pirelli P7000 225/40-18s for all of four days and love them. However, only drove them in sunshine and drizzle so far. It's supposed to rain in So Cal tomorrow, so I'll know more firsthand about wet weather handling after tomorrow.

I ordered the Bridgestone Potenza RE730, but I have to wait over a month for Racing Hart to make my rims. I compared the RE730's to every Z rated high performance tire including the AVS Sport on www.tirerack.com and they destroy every other tire in their price range and even beat some tires that cost close to $200 a piece! The RE730's are about $135 for a 225/45/17

Take a look at this link... it is a comparison b/w the RE730's, the Dunlop 9000's, the Pirrelli P7000SS, the AVS Sport and the S-02. Take a look at the prices and then look at the user ratings as well as the wear rating and traction ratings at the very bottom.

LOL, maybe because you are a quarter inch off the ground??

I'm still not sure what tires I want... I'm thinking something cheap the first round. Whats better, Nitto 555s or Toyo FZ4s? They are both $200.

Never mind, I didnt' see that you were looking at 19 inch tires. I don't think the RE730's come in a 19 inch size.

I just ordered rubber! I couldn't help myself, I had to get the Yokohama AVS Sport 235/35YR19s. Got them for list price which is $227. Still expensive but better than retail which is $245. Rubber won't be in until next week! Probably won't have it on the car until Wednesday or Thursday.
