Help quick question!
I recently had my trans rebuilt but even more recently when the trans will be cold it would slip, i found out that its because of low level of fluid but i was wondering how much i should add to help it stop slipping, i dont want to overfill and mess something else up, its on the bottom of the dip stick. HELP! im going to honda tomorrow to get some trans fluid need to know ASAP! thanks

to ck the TL atf level you need to drive 15 minutes from a dead cold on the freeway,
without excess use of city streets getting there! that heats the fluid too much!
at 15 pull off and stop (safely off an exit, park on level ground)
car in park- engine OFF
remove stick and wipe- insert fully and remove
should be between the 2 dots
At the upper dot is perfect, but midway is normal for most
I dont have the spec for low to high range,,ask at dealer,,its often a pint for full range of meter

Thats what the dipstick is for. You have to add a little check and repeat till its at the correct level. Its not something we can tell you.

kris- there has to be a spec for the distance to amount
adding a few drops/ounces and waiting a day to test again = not very practical
So I am hoping acura made a spec sheet
Hey actual acura techs- whats the deal on the atf dipstick?

A new rebuilt tranny does not mean the external tranny filter was replaced. Lack of fluid will cause slipping. When cold fluid is thickened, plus the clog of the filter, hence lack of fluid to gears. warming up proves that.
