help p0505
i know what everyone is going to say so ill cut it short. I have a 2nd gen tl-s iacv was swapped from my 6 speed same problem, cleaned the old iacv same problem, bought a new one same problem. Bled the coolant same problem. It'll go down to normal idle but as soon as i rev it pass 1k itll start revving on its own. Either way im pretty sure it isnt the iacv. Can it be the vsa? should i clean it?
cant be either of what you listed. I have swapped the throttle body and theres a new iacv in there. motor mounts are good. This morning i took it on a 30mile drive and when i got back i scanned the car and got a p1739 code which says its the automatic transaxle. Please tell me its not the tranny. It shifts fine and drives fine other then the rpm surging.
I gave you my best guess based on symptoms and not having any codes
new parts can be bad or installed wrong- I always ck the last things done,, first.
a 30 minute drive would be enough to clog the outlet screens with clutch particles IF thats your problem it could cause surging-rpm issues
how does the trans fluid look and smell- burnt sugar smell = bad news
take a 3 oz fluid sample and have tested- blackstone labs can tell you if the trans is wearing in any strange ways..bearings, clutches,,,
