HELP! Need DFW, Tx Shop to rebuild tranny

My tranny is shot...again just 39K miles since it was rebuilt under warranty by Acura. I'm outside of the warranty and she is paid off so I want to rebuild or put in a used 07 or 08 but need a good place to go in DFW asap. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I would go speak in person with the service manager
with that low of miles on a warranty rebuilt unit- they should at least price match local shops on a rebuild ~2500

On my 2001 TL the stealer replaced my tranny for free, it was a recalled. My TL has like 60K when they replaced it. Did the dealer ever call you in to replace it?

Thought it's best to use a 06.
Also have read that some 07's might not be a go.
and 08's were a no go.
maybe I'm wrong thou.

Did I just make a white boy rap,Yo ?

sam and other new to the forum or their TL

the recall was to install an external oil jet kit to prevent heat damage to 2nd gear shaft from low oil flow.

First they use a boroscope camera -(like a fiber optic wand) to look inside the trans at the affected part
If certain damage from heat was present, they turned it into a warranty replacement and car got a whole trans

if everything inside was ok - they installed the kit and you drive away.

the recall part is very important!- call acura care: 1-800 382 2238x5 they can tell you if it was done and ck if any other recalls apply -
everyone should be registered there- they need your address for any future recalls

and it has nothing to do with the main problem we suffer- early clutch disc wearout 2nd 3rd gears
that problem is covered by the court case- we get 7 year+9 months or 109kmiles trans warranty `for covered VINs`

now you know- getting educated is what azine is all about--no harm no foul-
I just try to keep misinterpretation of the recall vs whats really warranty down so newer members get it right

no the acura repair history shows @ 34K miles something was done to the tranny. I got it at like 40K. Then in the 70K mile range my tranny went out on the way to Austin @ 85mph. This time I had nothing to compare it too since I was headed back from the bar and it started going up and down exactly 500rpms, and even sitting idling it just bounces up and down 500 to 800rmps. All fluid levels checked. My neighbor swears this can't be the tranny when its just sitting there and much be a computer, sensor issue or something gummed up causing this...man I'm really hopeing this is not a tranny issue, but either way realizing I can't count on the ack anymore with my line of work I am just going to have to break into the piggy bank and pick up a 08' to 10' Tundra cash

most likely at 34 it got the 2004 issued `recall to install an external oil jet kit for 2nd gear shaft`

hard shifts- wont engage- slips like a manual trans clutch are all sysmtptoms of destroyed clutch pack disc clogging the TQ-
which is why your friend is incorrect regarding idle fluctuations

the special court ordered warranty for most of us is 7 years plus 9 months from date car first sold as new
or 109kmiles, (whichever first) some cars have odometer error court case and get 114.5 indicated miles coverage
You can get the sale date form acura care 1 -800 382 2238 x5
ask if part of the airbag recall too--there has been low response to that and its important

Even if over trans limits there is `GOODWILL warranty` where acura decides you are a deserving person and cuts the price to nothing or $500 for the install or up to 2500 depending on situation --thats still almost half off and has 3/36 warranty with it
might only offer 25% off too--it all depends~

stop by a trans shop like AA, or a parts store- and ck the car for codes for free!
that will help us diagnose it better

dont need a cel to have codes from trans stored

if those say trans, its time to read my post on how to obtain goodwill coverage thru kindness, bs, and general prayer if so inclined

then go speak with the service MANAGER in person
ask if the head tech can take a spin around the block with you- to demonstrate the problems
I find a $4 box of ice cream sandwiches `for the manager, writers and your tech`--does wonders in granting this request~
goodwill from you begets goodwill from them
Its the service manager who calls corp and pleads your case for goodwill

on the possible other probs is clogged iac idle air control valve on bottem of TB assembly
that'll mess the idle up

ever cleaned the egr ports,,due at 75 (not in book) makes car run bad

need those codes -if any- to point you in the right direction--a small diy, or dealer for major prob

I finally got it to the shop today and talked to the owner on the phone, just from my description he asked if I drove it in the torrential rains we had last week in DFW. Looking back now I did drive into an unexpectedly deep 4-5 foot area that looked flat. This may have overwhelmed the bypass valve and got water in...I think he said it was an actuator...hes pulling it apart now...fuck I hope there isnt water internally
