I just put in an acura DVD based navi system but i kept getting "dvd disc reading error (unformated) Please consult dealer." Then i played around with it and it seemed the door wasnt closing tight and when i pushed the pin in myself i got the message about acquiring a GPS signal but it later said it couldnt acquire one. I have tried to get one in 4 different spots (i never moved, car was running, antenna had clear view of sky) but nothing. Now it comes up "database is old." What the heck is going on? It seems database is old would mean i need a new disc but im sure someone still uses 1.09. I just got the 2.04 because it was only 15 shipped (should be here soon) and if it works i plan to get 2.05 but will the new disc solve the problem? why cant i get a signal? If you have any ideas about my hook up or anything please let me know Thanks so much

 

Are you upgrading a 99TL that already had NAVI or are you doing this from scratch?

 

Is the GPS antenna hooked up securely? Also what doopstr said....we need more details.

 

im doing this from scratch n a 97 CL. the antenna seems secure but get these errors still. everything seems to be hooked up right and i get a great picture, the only this i didnt hook up were the two secuty pins and the amp (+) pin
