Many have had the problem, You may have to unplug the antenna out of the back of the radio then enter the code (yes it sounds like a joke but its true) then after it accepts it plug the antenna back in

You have to just pull the side panel off (remove the wood trim and remove the screws that hold it on. then you can reach your hand in there and unplug it.

I found that sometimes you dont have to unplug it, just keep trying the code. If you get past er9 and lock, it then you can try the antenna thing. I took me 10 tries or something once, I dunno why, i think you have to be quick when you enter the code, but thats just my observation.

two separate dealers gave me two differnet radio codes. this is truly frustrating and my car has been silent for 3 months now.

Try to remove the radio fuse (located in the passenger side fuse box inside the car) for 15 minutes, put the fuse back in and try again.

this problem happens very often for tl/cl owners. Ive got to agree with fsttyms1, you have to unplug the antenna before you punch in the code. Just remove the driver side woodgrain panel and the panel under the steering wheel for the easiest access

why not buy a new radio and get peace of mind!!!! for the money spent to fix that radio plus time and aggravation, your better off just buying a decent headunit that can actually play cd-r's and mp3's

This is THE solution. This is what the mechanic at your dealer would do if you decided to have it looked at and fixed. Something about the antenna being grounded and messing up the code input, or so I was told. It is what I had to go through the when I got my car.

I did not know much about the TL at the time so I did not fiddle with it, and plus it was under warranty so, what the heck... didnt pay for it. It seems to be a common problem for TL (dont know about other models). but the guy knew exactly what was wrong and did his thing. 15 minutes and I had mine blasting all the way home....the end...
