Help! My car got painted!

Pretty shatty luck on the way to work today. A pick up to the left and slightly in front of me stepped on the gas, which casused the rear door to come down, and out came a bucket of white paint. Luckily, I was in the right lane so didn't get hit by the bucket. But after work this afternoon, noticed that I had streaks of white paint on the side of my car and tires and rims. Needless to say, I am quite distressed about this and don't know if this will come out.... Any suggestions?? Thanks.

Depending on what type of paint. If it's water based, it will come off just by washing it. If it's industrial, you might need to wash it and buff it with wax........

Go to an auto parts store and buy PrepClean or Chronar or something similar. It's a degreaser, stripper that is very clear coat safe. I use it all the time on my underbody to get tar and other crap off.

Be sure to rewax the area as it will strip it.

some times something like bug and tar remover will work good too, all depends on what type of paint it was

Sorry to hear about that man! That's a situation where you have to zip in front of that truck, make him stop, inform him of the damages, and make him/his company pay if it cannot be fixed by you.

People are so careless. I once ran over a metal ladder on the highway one night. It's crazy. What gets me as well is when the city is doing their weekly landscaping with lawnmowers and especially weed eaters zipping right next to the road spitting out who knows what at your car. Arrggghhh!

u can try clay too as that is supposed to remove paint overspray. you proablly need to get the heavy duty stuff from some autobody shop. I think the clay magic stuff is red as opposed to the blue regular clay bar

Thanks for the replies. I will try washing it first just to see waht happens though I am doubtful. I'm suspecting that the paint was normal paint used to paint houses and such... don't know the difference between 'industrial' and 'non-industrial' paint. If that fails, I will go to the store and buy a degreasing agent... actually, that may be a good idea since I have some tar splatter behind my right front wheel as well.

Question: is the degreasing agent safe for rims as well? I think mine may be powdercoated...
