HELP Im not to sure
Ok im not to sure our stock bose system if i go and take that out and put a kicker or something in there would it be worth it.
I know Bose is a good system but i want a little more bass but i dont want to go and put in a box because i need all my trunk space.
Plus is our door speakers bose to? I know in the new TL's they EBL or some system like that sounds like crap though!

you could look up drcookie's old thread about replacing the factory sub with a kicker rmb8 mid bass sub
it will sound a lot better than stock bose but nothing like a sealed 10in woofer.
you'll also have to get an amp for the sub.
the door speakers are also bose and are also pretty bad.
and the 3rd gens have ELS surround sound. i think made by panasonic.

I feel you bro, my freinds 04 ELS sounds really crappy to my ears compared to my Bose system. IMO we have the sickest stock sub i've ever heard in any car to date.
Although I too wanted a bit more Bass but didn't wanna lose my head unit, speakers and the stock sub. I simply bought a small amp and a 10" sub, hooked up the wiring kit. The trick to saving money to this is get an amp with speaker inputs so you can just tap into the stock sub and run the wire into the amp to get the signal. It's cheaper than buying a LOC (line out converter) which can cost up to $100. As soon as turned it up for the first time I was amazed how my sub and my MTX sub blended in toghether. I left the stock sub plugged in. The stock sub picks up more of the high's while the MTX picks up the mid's and lows.
The way it sounds just perfect just imagine you had 2 stock Bose subs, that's how it'll sound. And in the end that's all i wanted a lil more bass than stock. All of my freinds are amazed at how it sounds, it sounds like a completely stock system.
My sub is 300W rms, matched with a 300w rms amp which sounds great to my ears. Be sure to get a remote gain so you can adjust the bass according to ur mood and song.
I would suggest you to look into the Infinty Basslink which is a portable sub with built in amp and speaker inputs. All you need is the powering kit. I'm running 4wg.

You have got to be kidding me. My wife's parents 10 year old minivan has more bass and a better sound system than our stock shit. You dont need to spend 100 dollars on a LOC. You can get a perfectly good one for 20 bucks. Also if you hook up a better amp to the stock sub you can make it sound much better too.

The only thing that came close was the Altima with the stock BOSE system which had tweeters but no sub.
I've compared alot of system's to my 2g TL and I really think we have an AMAZING stock system for the year that our cars were built. If I can say my 2000 TL has a better system than the 08 TL and having the 08 owner agreeing to it im satified at the end of the day with my Bose system.
Plus I get to see that lovely Bose reflection in my rear view which is ultimate baller.
