Unhappy HELP! I need a seasoned owner's opinion...

I'm contemplating buying a used '02 TLS with 35K on it. Now here's the deal, it had the tranny replaced at 22K, it has 4 brand new tires, and is a certified Acura used car. It carries the 7 yr 100K warranty on the powertrain. The dealer wants $22,800. Is this a good buy? Or should I stay away from it?

Thanks...

What do you drive and did you buy it new? I've looked around and I can't seem to find any that are close in price. All the dealers seem to be stuck on themselves (like their $&!? don't stink)

I think the fact that it had the tranny replaced brought the price down. I think $22,800 is a pretty damn good price. Maybe you can see if they can get you out the door at $23k or something. I think that may be pushing it as they're already selling it well below the blue book value....

Thanks for all of your help, I decided to go for a new one instead. I got an '03 with spoiler, splash guards, and wheel locks for $29995. How did I do? (No Nav)

Wow. That price seems low. I got $22,500 for the same thing, but with 49,500 miles. (Mine had mods, but those do not usually count)

I think you made a great choice - I would have gone for the new one too!

Hey.....where in St. Louis are you from? Which dealer did you go to? Dave Mungenast or Frank Leta? I have a '02 ABP TL-S by the way.

This is just my opinion on this.
once the tranny been replaced, i wouldnt buy it.
who knows when the tranny will blow agian and this time you might be doing 85 on the freeway:wow: :wow:
i would stay away from it if i was you.
Instead i would put in another 10k for a new one or paying for an older one with no tranny issue at that price.

good luck!! if you planning on buying the car!
