Help! How to stop my alarm from going off..

Exactly that, I did not get a remote when I got the car, and by accident I set it off, I disconnected the battery, but when I try to connect again, it's still going off.

Any suggestions out there? Maybe leave the battery disconnected overnight? Let me hear from you please....

It will time out in about 3 minutes. Please bury your head so you don't watch as the HID capsules lives get drastically shortened by the rapid flashing. I would cry if my HIDs were flashed like that for 3 minutes.

Invest $50 in a remote from Ebay ASAP. Search the forum for programming instructions. It should be simpler than programming a key since that requires the waving of a dead chicken and voodoo chanting.

Kris you don't count, your TL has been an extraordinary example of the TL model in general (with exception of the transmission)

Generally speaking, according to the people who actually design and produce HID lighting, rapid flashing quickly evaporates the protective coating on the electrodes within the capsule. This creates deposits, and thus hot-spots, on the capsule resulting in weakness of the capsule, failure, or even explosion.

I know this is gonna sound lame -- but it's 3am out my way and I can't test my theory. Can't you simply put the key in the driver's side door lock and turn the key to shut it off? Did you already try this?

I've had an aftermarket alarm since I bought my car in 2001 -- so my memory may be a little rusty on the subject.

Good Luck!

Vincent

Thanks for all the replies... Last night after I came home and made the loud ooops to wake up the neighbors, I just disconnected the battery to deal with it in the morning.

Thiking straight this morning and reading your replies, I did the obvious as you guys stated, put the key in the door, connect the battery real quick and turn the key (lock un-lock) and things were quiet again.

Thanks for your help guys. I'm in the process of completing the transformation of my new TL-S, that will include a Clifford transponder alarm, same set up as my silver TL in my sig.

Once I'm back from Brazil in about two months, you guys would have some photo insight to my new Type-s whip. Untill then, thanks guys.
