8K? You don't use your headlights to see at night?

99-01 tl's did not have problems with moisture getting to the headlights, but they will eventually die and I have 99-01 ballasts ready to be sold. Another alternative is an AM kit which is cheaper than the whole OEM setup.

5000k-6000k is what you want. I swapped out my 6000k for 5000k bulbs. I wa happy with either or.

Also, 8k is non-existent on the kelvin scale. It bothers me when people talk about HIDs and think K stands for kilos.

Using 3k, 4k, 5k, 6k to replace 3000k, 4000k, 5000k, 6000k helps spread stupidity and ignorance. Not everyone knows what the k actually stands for. I've even heard people say they have 5k/6k lights, which makes no sense.Be kind and help others use terms properly.

As for which kits to get, I would go for theretrofitsource.com because of their quality. DDM is made in China, so you do get what you pay for. If you can trs>ddm

In the interest of being kind and helping others:

K = Kelvin
k = kilo

8k = 8,000
8000k = 8,000,000

Thus 8000 K is the correct terminology.

But in the end we all knew what he meant, so it really doesn't matter.

you can purchase some pretty good am kits online. I wouldn't suggest sticking to oem, as they are prone to failing.

I recently replaced my factory bulbs with bulbs from HID extra. One bulb was defective which HID extra sent me out a replacement the next day. I am happy with the quality of the bulbs as well as their customer service.

another kudos to hidextra.com for excellent product, price unreal low and great service
way better than stock parts for sure

ballast are mini sized, remote mount away from water, requires cutting a few wires and installing connectors,,thats it

5000k = KELVIN color scale
35 watt stock power and plenty for our housing reflector type
