What do you have some sort of death wish??? Dude, I'm also a high school kid driving a TL and trust me man, take the car to the track. Don't speed on city roads...you'll either get caught by the cops, or get into serious trouble...

I got lucky and nothing happened during my "teenage" driving years. I'm still technically within that period, but I got over my whole speeding thing...

don't be stupid, do it the intelligent way and don't speed in the city...

he never said anything about speeding on city roads...amost all my friends have tried their cars at the limit on the highway and i think kids will continue to do so...if they get caught by the cops...that sucks...if they crash...thats their own fault..they should have backed off when they started to feel uncomfortable...and if their too stupid too then thats darwinism at work...i bet alot of people on this site have pushed the car to near 150..

btw...no speed limiter..only rev limiter...balls to the wall and you'll max out

Get a faster car first, lol. If you have such a death wish to top out your '99 TL it would make for a much better story if you died while topping out your Mustang or Camaro.

First step, grow up.

2nd step, realize acceleration is more of a rush than top speed.

3rd step, keep the racing and 100+ speeds to the track.

He is calling the guy above a hypocrite.... because he did it and then he is telling someone else not to do it... (race and/or speed) Man, you've never heard of that expression???

The Pot calling the Kettle black... (The Pot is also black....)

Bondboy, don't be stupid and be safe when your out on the roads... if you want to speed then do it, but don't go overboard and do crazy sppeds (above 100) where you endanger people's lives....

btw, there are some folks that have gone above the speed regulated by acura (147mph), but I think the guy that did do it had a 120 shot of NOS and he only got the vehicle to 162mph.... Do a search, but seriously be careful out there and call and tell us when your driving on the roads so we all can stay the fuck off of them...

Answer this, why would you want to go faster than 147??? If you want to travel greater than 100, take it to the track, it is a controlled environment...

EDIT: I had to change the top speed of our vehicles... I thought it was 153... sorry..

It's a rev limiter, not a speed limiter. Basically if you hit the rev limiter in 4th or 5th gear you'll be around 145-147 mph.
