Exclamation Help with Factory CD Changer.........

I have a factory CD changer in my '99 TL... I tried using it the other day, the disc started to play, all of a sudden, everything went quiet, I heard a little cackling coming from the speakers, then the dash stereo display read "EEE"..I automatically assumed that meant "error". After that, I was unable to use the changer.. I went to the trunk to check it out, and I can't even pull the magazine out to take the discs out.. I pushed the button to eject but nothing happens.. A few minutes later it worked(cd started playing), then it stopped again..It's erradic... But as of last night when I went home, My changer isn't working at all.. What could it be?

Pull out the radio fuse. Double check your manual, but on the '01 TL it's on the passenger side, right row, top 20 amp fuse. Leave it out for a few minutes (until the Anti-Theft light on your radio goes out) then put it back in. If the EEE or --- doesn't clear, leave it out for 20 minutes.

It worked for me.

NOTE: You will have to reset all your radio station presets.

yo ed, check the cable and the plug at both ends. mine started to do that once in awhile but i fixed it when I unplugged and replugged in the connector. i've had it happen once since, but it might have been beacuse i had a ton of stuiff in the trunk before that and something may have come in contact with the plug again. good luck.

Hey Ed, that's what I was thinking...When I get the chance, I'm going to check the connector in the trunk..
