HELP: with Exhaust Tips

Hi, I have a 99 TL and I haven't touched the factory tips since I bought the car in 1999. Now I decided that I want to put tips on my car. The only problem is that the bolt securing the factory tip is all rusted and I can't get it off. Is there an easier way, or something I can do to get it off? Thanks in advance!!!

Rip the f*cker off. It's not like you are going to use it again. Thats what i did.

Try lots of WD-40 to get it out. An air gun would help too. If all else fails, bring it to a shop to burn it out. I had to do that when I changed my tips

I had the same problem and I wrung the nut off on one of them. I used a hack saw blade to cut the bolt off by getting under the car and sawing from the back side of the exhaust tip, there is enough room to get in there and do it. On the other tip i let some nut loesner from walmart seap into the bolt for a couple of hours and it came off fine. Good luck and go slow you don't want to ring the nut off nor do you want to damage the factory tips you may want to use them again!

get those bolt removers from Sears...they work fine. The bolts on my tips were the same, WD 40 and the boltouts worked.

I'd just get a good penetrating oil and soak them with it. After about 24 hours you should be able to pop them off. If that doesn't work, you could always just use a saws-all and cut them off.
