HELP: DIY Paint Caliper with G2!
Hey guys, I just got my G2 Paint Caliper Kit (brush on) and I need some help on how to install it! First, the paint says that after you mix it, it will dry in 4 hours... how can I paint the 4 calipers in 4 hours if I need 2 hours to let dry per caliper? So I am thinking of using 2 axle stands, so I can do 2 sides at the same time. My questions are:
- What are the steps to cleaning the caliper using the spray included in the kit, do I need extra tools to clean it?
- Where exactly do I position the axle stands? I know they are suppose to go where the jack goes, but if I am using a jack to push up the car, how could I put the axle stand where the jack is? Makes sense?
- What are some tips you guys would suggest while doing this mod to make my life easier and the result perfect?
THANKS!

*to clean it, soap and water work like a charm, the three dance together pretty good.
*to take the caliper off...unscrew the 2 nuts holding it to the car, CLIP THE BREAKFLUID HOSE -> =||= (so it doesnt gush out), remove nuts and place on stand however you want...if you cant figure a good way then you should even mess with taking the breaks off.
*to make your life easier...take some patience pills (AKA smoke sum pot), your looking at 1+hours per caliper +2 drying(like you said). Apply the primer (if the kit has one) let dry for 15-20min and MAKE SURE ITS EVEN...then with lightly filling your brush with paint, gently brush the paint on in ONE DIRECTION ONLY...UP AND DOWN, UP AND DOWN and UP, and down (no, its not porn).
Me, i just simply got a $4spray can from PepBoys, took the nuts off, placed the caliper (still stuck to the breakline) on a big paint can, put plastic bag around the rotors and all the wheel sorounding space, taped what i didnt want painted (nuts, the hole and the break line), cleaned it and sprayed 2 layers and voila!
peace.

-the brakeclean does a pretty good job of cleaning the caliper..it'll take off everything that would prevent the paint from adhereing...but the calipers may still appear dirty...you could wire brush if you really want too...
-i hope you have a hydrolic jack..if you dont...you can get a cheap one for 30 bucks..just get one!....place the jackstands under the jacking poitns...jack the fornt of the car up by the front engine mount...its a metal beam running across the car...its directly in the center of the car...and its the first thing you'll see after the plastic underbody....this will lift oth sides of the front of the car off the ground...place a jackstand on both sides...for the read...if you look at the jack point...and then look further back (towards the read of the car)...you will see a circular rubber bushing that connects with the read suspension...that is a safe place to lift the car from...after you jack that up and place a jackstand on the jack point..all for sides of the car will be off the ground...you can jack the other read side up allittle and place a jackstand under neath it if you worried that the car is balencing itself on 3 jackstands...
-do it right...make sure you hit every spot..take your time so you dont get paint everywhere. make the coats light and even...to many coats/to thick will make the paint easier to chip...dont paint the rubber covering the slide screws, dont paint over the bleeer valve, dont paint the brake pad...the paint will not come of your cloths or your driveway....
have fun... :toothless

you don't need to remove the calipers...
you can get the G-2 applied with the brush on the whole caliper without taking it off, and apply double coats. just paper around the rotor. should have bought 2 kits! keep mixing!!!

For the axle stands, there are supports under the car... I think it might be in the manual... I know the back ones are under the door in front of the tires, can't tell you right now where the others are
