OK this I dont get. People get the comptech because they want a more "sportier" exhaust note...then all of a sudden its too loud so they want a silencer. Now...with the silencer installed...isnt that exactly like the stock exhausts then? But for $650 more? Doesnt the silencer leave you back down to a 2.5 inch pipe?

I asked the guys at Comptech about the silencers and apparently in Switerland it is illegal to have an aftermarket exhaust louder than stock, so that's why they developed the silencers. The silencers just cover the resonators in the tips. A loss of 1hp from the gain and a loudness close to stock is what they told me. The install looks pretty easy, (I haven't installed mine yet, I'm going to when I go on the cross-country road trip). The silencer comes with a drill bit that you use to drill a hole on the inside of the tip, and the silencer is held in by a screw. It's competely reversable.

I have them. Takes all of about 10 minutes to install. Can be taken out, but since they are self-tapping screws, they don't tend to hold as well the second time you put them in.
One suggestion, if you get them, use a smaller bit than the one they give you. It's a little big for the screw and the screw could work its way out of the hole.
