Help! CEL P1259
recently my CEL popped on along with a reoccuring problem.
The Problem; as i drive whenever i hit vtech(3,500rpm +) the car stutters and seems to gasp for air not engaging the needed power. when this happens i ease off the gas. under 3.5k rpms the car drives smooth and normal
Codes Pulled;
P0141 - O2 sensor heater circuit malfun
bank 1 sensor 2
P1259 - manfact control, fuel air meter
after changing o2 sensor the o2 code was fixed. but the P1259 once cleared returns within 5secs of jus having key in ignition ("on" position). also replacing the o2 sensor did not fix the vtech problem.
Ive tried "search" put those with similar code never posted final outcome/solution/source of problem. would like to avoid dealer when possible and any insight would be great. thanks

You know, there's this thing called google...
Anyway that code is related to VTEC system itself. I didnt look to far into it but it could be the v-tec oil pres. sensor (which is located right next to the regular oil pres. sensor) or it could be the actual vtec solenoid, or something else.
Basically at this point I'd take it to the shop. It doesnt have to a be a dealer, and good mechanic with a manual would be able to fix the prob.

That thread talks about it pretty extensively along with some of the things that can lead to the VTEC crapping out.

i had the same problem on my old prelude. should be the same system. sometimes the vtec solenoid's wires come loose. find the solenoid, pull the wires out, plug it back in, and give it a try. if that doesnt work. you might have to drain your oil in order to remove the solenoid to clean it. either way, good luck with your repairs and i hope all you guys get your vtec back soon, cuz youre missing out :Tomato:
