HELP: Can't take marks off!!!!

Hi guys,

I have some kind of acidic paint or some sticky substance that fell on my car when i parked it in an underground parking lot. I guess it some kind of white residue that fell thru from an overhead pipe on portions of my hood. It comes off if I use some my nail to scratch if off and I can damage the paint in doing that. I am including a pic and hopefully someone can give me suggestions as to how I can get em off .................thanks

ash.....

If you use wd-40, be sure to have a wet soapy rag ready to clean the surface after you apply wd or you can ruin your paint.
Try alcohol first, then WD. Just my .02

This stuff is usually the lime that is used when they pour the concrete. Try a little compound and then wax.
