HELP, broken stud on front axle!!!

I broke a stud on my front axle. Does anyone have a DIY on how to replace this? It looks like this car requires you to remove the axle, hopefully this is not the case. Thanks!

You just have to remove the hub to which the studs are mounted.

Once you take off the caliper and the rotor, you will see it. I've never had to do it on my car, but when I looked at it while installing my brakes, it didn't look like it required removing the axle.

all you have to do is remove teh caliper and rotor. then press/pound out the old. then insert the new one and use a lugnut to draw it tight. then just reassemble every thing

It didn't look like there was enough room to get the stud out without taking off the spindle to which the studs are mounted.

Then again, I didn't try, so I don't know for sure. It just didn't like you could pull out the stud without taking the assembly off.

well looking at it and from previous hondas (and me accidentally doing what he did) there should be a spot to pop them out. if any thing he may need to take off the halfshaft nut to remove to remove the plate (#5)

thanks!

Well I must say that I probably made this a bit more challenging for myself than I needed to. I originally attempted popping the stud out by rotating the wheel to align thebroken stud to the left side of the brake/rotor shield (#16 on diagram). Thought I would have enough clearance to drive it out, but to no avail. I thought about grabbing my dremel tool to cut the bolt in half (which would give me enough clearance to pop it out through the side of the shield), but realized that I would still have problems when popping in the new stud. So finally i took kris' advice and loosened the nut so that i could just go ahead and remove the plate. Probably would have been faster to do this in the first place, but lessons learned for me. Thank you both for your assistance!
