I just took apart my dashboard on my 00 TL to change my radio for the newer 6-CD model and have encountered the following problems.
1. The old radio had two harnesses and the new one has a slot for only one of them. The old 12 pin harness has nowhere to go.
2. The CD on the new one shows a CHEC error and I cannot load a CD.

Any ideas?

 

what was the 6 disc out of? another tl or a cl, because the one from the cl wont work

 

Another TL. The radio and tape are working when I ignore the second harness but the CD will not. It keeps cycling and giving me an error message.

 

it sounds like its a cl radio???

 

OK I got the CD working and now everything works except that the sound is not loud like it should be. Maybe that has something to do with the second harness.

Who makes the CL radio? The one I have is made by pioneer. The guy I bought it from swore that it came out of a TL not a CL.

 

Yea, Pioneer made the one for the 02-03. I am not sure what is going on with you. Check your PM, I sent you a reply.
