Help~~

Hey guys, I have 03 WDP -S and I am just wondering if it's normal to have rpm around 2.5ish from coming down the hill around 80km/h-100km/h (it's stuck at 3rd gear) I had to use SSM to upshift to 4rd and bring the rpm down. Is this a problem?? or a normal thing? Hopefully this is not a sign of tranny problem....

Depending on how steep the grade is down the hill. Did you touch the brakes at all? Our cars have a sensor to detect how steep an incline is and will 'engine brake' by selecting a lower gear to slow you down. Safety measure so I would say it's normal.

Using the SS mode to override -- sounds good to me. Just be careful there are no cops at the bottom of that hill!

That would be the Grade Logic at work. Coming down hills, the computer will use engine braking to aid slowing down by leaving the transmission in a lower gear.

You ever see run-away cars/trucks because they didn't use engine braking, and their brakes were cooked because they were constantly braking? Yeah, that's why they put Grade Logic in cars, because people are stupid. Don't override it unless you are very confident that you can handle it. At the least, it will help save your brake pads.

It will downshift down a hill even in the sportshift mode. This is the grade logic in effect. Completely normal.
