headlights stolen!!!
I let my sister take my car down to NYC so she could find her way around using the navi. She parked it in front of her friend's house in queens and woke up to find the headlights gone... They somehow disconnected the battery so the alarm wouldn't go off, put a hole in the grill to pop open the hood, ripped the bumper down and stole the headlights.. I guess if you disconnect the battery there's is no back up power for the alarm...
My sister told me the crappy NYC cops wouldn't even get out to the car to see the damage when they were writing up the report.. They wouldn't even help her figure why the car wouldn't start or help her reconnect the battery... I thought cops were supposed to hel people in trouble... Anyways just pissed at the bastards who stole my headlights and the cops who don't do their jobs...

Oh sh1t!!! That sucks! I'm sorry to hear that, first night in NY and it gets taken Do you know where in Queens it was taken (area)? I hope everything will work out for you and your sister man. Is she stuck in NY also, cause the car isn't drivable? Good luck with everything.
Make sure you don't get mad at your sister, shes probably feeling real bad as it is I'm sure Probably feeling alot of unnecessary guilt.

Re: headlights stolen!!!
Sorry about what happened man. Hope everything works out.
Looks like most of these headlight thefts are in the NY/NJ area. So, it does look like I will be visiting NY or NJ in my TL any time soon or ever.
BTW, welcome to the board. It looks like more and more MA people are joining the board. All the new MA members better show up to the next meet!! Haha.

Sorry to hear about your ride. Man that sux. I am sooo paranoid when I drive down there. I'm assuming you didn't have a shock sensor, if not, then it's time to get one or an aftermarket alarm. Hope everything works out. I hope these fvckin thieves get what they deserve. B@startds!!!

Someone can verify this for me but ...
Appearantly TL/TL-S headlights fit onto other cars (ie-Maxima 4th gen). Queens/Bklyn has no shame in the game. If ya like your car the way it is, keep it away from the hood.
Sorry to hear about your car, OEM headlights aren't cheap, going to claim it (insurance)?

Yeah going to go see the insurance guys tomorrow for an appraisal. Went to the dealership to see how much the damage was going to cost.. 1900 without labor or bumper repair... The side clips on the bumper were ripped so I'm hoping the insurance company will pay for the damage to the bumper too.. Hopefully a replacement...

hey moron with a nissan, are you trying to say that my neighborhood, flushing, is the hood? how the hell would you know, you live in jersey???? you dont have to be in the hood to get your HID stolen you dumbass!

The term 'hood' = neighborhood, does not necessarily mean 'ghetto'.
To correct your assumption, I spent my grade school and junior high years in Queens. But then again, ignorance is bliss for some.
I was mistaken to think this bbs got better in the past 6 months.
Peace.

if you read the post before typing your thoughts, you would see that he used the term "hood" in the context of ghetto...like you said, ignorance IS bliss...

My body shop guy said that they also pry them out of the side with a crow bar (since they don't care about the entire fixture, they destroy it, the bumpers, the fenders, and the hood (not ghetto hood, hehe). Avg cost is over 3k).

I used to live in Flushing. I go there every weekend. And I have friends that live in Flushing...
and you know what?
It is pretty "hoody".
And to the original poster ... good luck with all the repairs. I was pretty angry when someone ripped the emblems off my car. I wouldn't couldn't imagine how I would feel if someone stole my headlights.
