Headlights fogged up....but i've never even cleared them!

Alright, yesterday I went out for a drive (95 degrees and 99% humidity) and i wanted to just rinse of my car not fully wash it...so i went to town and when i was drying it off i realized my headlights were fogged up a little bit, headlights still worked and everything, but is that normal? I've never cleared them or anything so i dont know....thanks guys

I've never cleared my headlights either and I also notice a little fog when I wash my car. It seems to go away shortly, headlights work fine, I've never worried about it.

My driver side recently fogged up after a wash. Now there is moisture inside. And the driver side HID has recently quit.

I never did anything to my headlights.

My car is almost 4 years old.

If your headlights have never been opened and it is fogging sounds like water may have collected in your ballast.

It sits directly under your headlight housing. There is a foam seal that is suppose to keep water that is sprayed up from the bottom from getting in the ballast. But if that seal is a little off it could allow water to enter.

The ballast can take a little water it if it dried out before too long, otherwise it will rust some of the connections in there and possible short it out.

They are about $195 to replace from and OEM dealer about 230 from an Acura dealer so they are not cheap to replace, and that doesn't include labor.

so if my car is less than 4 years old, but has 58K miles on it, do I have any chance to have lights/ballasts repaired under warranty?

Hell, yes.

When my car was like a year old, the headlights fogged up. They were replaced under warranty, but the new ones fogged up again. I took it back, but they said no. :wtf:

So I came home, thought about it for like 5 seconds and said, "hey, fuck it. I'll just clear them."

They haven't fogged up once since then. Acura should hire me to seal their headlights at the factory.

I didnt have my headlights cleared before and and I was parked under something that kept which left a nasty film on the paint and headlight. It was still was raining, I didnt notice this until I got home an hour later and there was lots of foggy inside.

I was so worried but I decided to just remove low beams and high beams and use a hair dryer... not less than 15 mins it was ALL gone.
