headlight question...
headlight question...
i just realized that i had a pretty considerable crack on the bottom part of the housing on my headlight...but before i order a new one, i thought i should check with you huys to see if there was a difference in the hid vs non-hid headlights. thanks for your input guys!
If i explained it in my own words i would go on for days so heres a quick google term.
HID stands for High Intensity Discharge. It refers to lighting technology that relies on an electrical charge to ignite xenon gas contained in a sealed bulb. One great advantage of HID Lighting is that unlike a Halogen bulb which has filament which can burn out in as little as 250 hours, HID bulbs are gas filled capsules that are rated for a life of 2000-4000 hours. Another is the fact that they use only 35 watts of electricity. They shine brighter with less power.

i think there may be a misunderstanding...is there a difference in the build of the actual headlight HOUSING for hid and non-hid? Is one of the housings built with a different plastic to widthstand the heat of an HID bulb better and halogen?
