Headlight Protection

I keep hearing about our headlights getting stolen for our bulbs and stuff and now I just read about the same thing happening to the new Maximas. So what can we do about it. i am assuming - i know i shouldn't do that- that these guys had alarms and shock sensors. how come they weren't activated. The only thing that I'm thinking that might help is a radar type alarm(then I just gotta worry about annoying kids setting it off) or a Compustar or Viper alarm with a pager. Someone also told me about installing the hood sensor more to the front of the car or just getting the old fashion mechanical hood locks. Some thoughts please to help save our headlight from the evil stealers of light

Why would you assume they had shock sensors for their lights? No alarm so sensor is 100% effective. If someone really wants it bad enough they will take it, alarm or no alarm. From what I've heard so far, the shock sensors are a great way to ward off your run of the mill hoodlum. The shock sensors automatically arm with the alarm. I know with mine, it takes 10 sec after I engage my alarm for the sensors to become active.
