headlight problems

Well, I did a search, and it looks like I'm the first one to have this problem. I havn't even tried to clear my headlights for the record, but my right headlamp unit is foggy, and I cant understand why. I noticed it today when I was filling up with gas. I tried to put a hair dryer to it, and it took a while, but it got it out, until i took the car out again.... how do I go about fixing this, and how do I find out where the broken seal is.

Are you still under warranty? If you are then take it to the dealer asap.

nope, I'm most definately not... why, can it be serious? Hopefully I can get it fixed so it doesn't get all into my HID system. Since its not under warranty, what can I do?

This gives you a reason to clear them!! Pull them apart, clear them, and then seal them back up really good with some silicone or something...

how much of a pain in the ass is it to clear them? If I have to take the front bumper off I'll probably die of a heart attack doing it.... I'm not used to doing that much work on my car. I did buy a gutter guard so I can begin thinking about making a grill... I've been wanting to clear them for a while, but I'm skeptical, because I dont want to risk having even more problems with fogginess. If and when I do clear them, do I keep the amber bulb, or do I get another one, and what did you all use to seal it back up with?

Thanx,
Ryan

HAHAHA... that would be more comforting.... I'm getting my nerves up to do it, because I dont want my HIDs messed up with this fogging. Are you planning on doing it anytime soon?

Ok.. so whatever I'm going to do, I need to remove the front bumper.. and I dont know how to do that. Basically - I dont feel very confident in bothering with the headlamps... due to the prices of the HID systems and all, I dont want to mess it up. Should I even try to do it myself? I dont want to get it done, and then end up spending a pile of money on a new ballast/igniter/etc, for an error I made. Comments would be appreciative, because I want to get this done ASAP, so I can minimize the damage to my HIDs from moisture.

Thanx,
Ryan

Yah im planning on doing it soon... The front bumper isnt all that hard to take off, and worst case scenario dude, if we blow the HID system, save the damn amber pieces, put them back in, and bang, dealer dont know you jacked it up. Sure its a b!tch, but its worth it.

No dude, im tottaly serious. I cant find anyone down here thats willing to help me, and me help them. Im not that far from Atlanta, i was serious when i said i would drive up there if you want to make it a day or 2 project...

For the record, my '99 right headlight also gets foggy. Only after heavy rains though.
