someone tried to steal one of my headlights, although they didnt get the headlight they managed to mess up my "headlight computer".... i replaced the bulb but the light still wont go on......mechanic says water got in and fried the computer that makes the light go on......he says a new one will cost around 300 anyone know where i can get a cheaper one quickly?? i appreciate any help because i cant drive at night now. thnk you very much

 

Headlight computer? Maybe he means igniter or ballast?

 

I would find a better mechanic if he thinks there is a computer in the headlight......its most likely the ballast but i doubt that would fry. You sure the theif didn't knock out or fray a wire? does the other headlight work? if not maybe you blew a fuse.

 

one of the headlight works..... but the other doesnt. what would i have to replace then?? hmmmm i guess i gotta go to another mechanic

 

The dealership would have the best advice on that one.

headlight computer. hmmmmmmmmmmmm, must be a walmart mechanic lol. most likely you blew the ignitor. you can get those off hidking.com i think
