Headlight Bulbs

My TL had a headlight bulb blow. I was too cheap and only fixed one. I totally regret it. One side is much MUCH brighter now. What type of bulb do I need to get? Because I'm seeing a lot of stuff on Ebay and I know I can get two new bulbs for a reasonable price. Are the D2R bulbs correct? Thanks for the help!

yeah the D2R is what you want...depending on your fog lights (if applicable) you could get 6000k headlight bulbs....they're $189 for a pair and plasmagarage.com. that's a bluer color than stock....what did you replace your stock light with, and what's your car's year and trim? hope this helps. -shawn

I replaced the stock light with the stock light. I took it to some dumb mechanic because I have never in my life experience any headlight problems. The mechanic bought one factory Acura bulb and replaced it. I have a 1999 Acura TL -- no fog lights.

If you're a little patient, the color will soon match. I wrecked my right front and had to replace the headlight. The new one was yellow!! Talk about PISSED. Anyway, after a few weeks (maybe that long) turned as blue as the old one. It's a process these lights go through.

well depending on how much you paid.....

i'm PLANNING on getting 6000ks, (or 8000ks depending on which one is bluer not purple) and selling my stock lights for cheap....in case someone's blew, or they hit something.....that's what i'm planning on doing....but we'll see....i haven't even gotten my 7500k fogs yet....-shawn

Well, I'm telling you mine match, and one's been in the car the entire time I've had it, sooo take it from someone who knows. Certainly different bulb from different mfrs maybe, but think if Acura had to always replace them in pairs anytime one went out. That just sounds like a marketing gimmick, even though there's a tiny grain of truth to it. Not enought truth to make me spend twice the money, however!
