Headlight
I got pulled over for a burnt out headlight in Washington this weekend. However when I pulled over a mile down the road they were both working.
I drove about 12 hours, 2 days in a row and had my headlights on the entire trip. I have been unable to duplicate the failure.
It was the driver side headlight and occationally when I go over a really sharp bump it seems that light might flicker. I cannot duplicate this stationary though.
Thoughts?
On non-HID bulbs they've just burnt out, do HID bulbs act differently?
Debating replacing both bulbs.

probably not the light. A lot of times they will turn pink / purple for a few days (weeks) then flicker, then go out (not always tho). there are a bunch of threads that help determine if ballast or bulb, but it seems more likely wiring / ballast if bumps make it go off / on. You can always open the housing and make sure nothing is loose - need a 20 bit security torx - the driver's side is a PITA to to get to. I took out the battery and coolant resevoir to get to it and still tough. Do you notice any condensation inside?

I hope its not the ballast cuz they are like $350!
I guess I will find out soon enough!

Stoned, your's probably is the light. The diff b/t your's & rob's is your's is everytime you turn it on it flickers, rob's seems like only if he hits a bump or something.

Phee if that's the case I might go a while. I rarely do any night driving, you get old and married and you dont find yourself out of the house much past dark....
Just ordered new rotors/pads instead 2mm left on the pads and rotors warped. Wife says I should save my coin for the car I want to buy. I tend to agree.

45 for a pair seems a little low to me for a pair of HIDs. Not familiar with Morimotos. But even if they last half the time of stock, you'd probably get 50,000 miles out of them. I bought the Kaixens 5K and like them - only had em about a month so who knows how long they'll last - but they were 45 each IIR.

Are the bulbs you bought the same brightness as the originals? I have a bulb that won't fire and just flickers. It works on the drivers side, but not the passenger side. I also paid $350 for a igniter/inverter to fix the light, and found out it wasn't the issue. I would flip if it was just the bulb. Of course now I have a brand new Acura part I don't need and can't friggin return and I am out $350. And my headlight still isn't working.
The good thing is my my wife has a Volvo S80 that is much more expensive to fix, so i don't get too much grief on the expense of my car (gotta find that silver lining)

who diagnosed the ignitor?
is there moisture inside your headlight lens? ever?
when you swapped the old bulbs left to right, 1 bulb flikkers one one side and works fine on the other? and the other bulb?

Those bulbs i got are not that bad the light they give off is a little less then stock but stock is 4300 and these are 6000 so the higher you go the blueir they get but less light so if you want a lot of light then stick with 4k-5k and if u want a vluish tint then 6K is the bluist i would go cuz any higher u see nuttin... These are not that bad I had them in for like 9-10 month and still work fine and the DO give off less light then stock but it is subbose to cuz its 6K color so even if you get the best 6K bulb it still will not be as bright as the worste 4300 bulbh
