Headers: Comptech vs OBX (Q & A)
#41
Comparing OBX and Comptech headers is like comparing Mugen/Spoon with AEM intakes right?
Both get the job done, one performs a bit better and costs a lot more.
or..
why get a Benz vs a Kia? Both you get from A to B but the Benz gets you there faster and in style but with a price.
Im a sure the OBX headers are decent for the price you pay. Only time will tell if they will live up in the LONG run. If they do, OBX headers are definitely a good deal.
The price you pay is what you can afford. If you cant afford it, then live with what you have.

For me it was all about the $/HP ratio. You're paying $40/hp when you buy Comptech headers, which is not a ratio that appealed much to me. Now $13/hp with OBX headers was something I couldn't resist.

fla-tls,
Your $/hp is a good example of the difference. I would much rather pay $13/hp especially when all of that hp occurs over 5k rpm, which for me and likely most of us is somewhere in the neighborhood of 5-10% of the time that we are in our cars. I think that now that OBX is on the scene that Comptech will realize that they are not the only guy in town and will have to lower prices to be competitive.
