Post Headers, Cold Air, Exhaust on TL S

Do the Comtech and AEM aftermarket parts fit on the new TL S?

As I've posted before, I'm mulling over a new car and It'd be real sweet to know that I can kick the TL S's horses up several notches if possible.

From what I know, the answer is yes. We are having a TL/CL meet in NJ on March 31 and a sales guy from Park Acura in Jersey is supposed to be showing his personal TL-S which has the CompTech headers and Exhaust on it. I'm not sure about the CAI, but since the engines are the same (CL-S and TL-S), all of parts (CompTech, AEM, etc.) should fit!!

Lawrence.... with the headers alone you'd be close to 300hp!! Those babys add a little over 30hp to the crank!!

XDriver.... of course it makes a big difference, pulling in over 300hp vs. stock 260hp makes a difference regardless of where the drive wheels are. Not to mention the additional torque!! Go to the CL forum, some of those guys are close to dropping from .5 to one full second off their 0-60 times!!

1000$+ for headers is pricey, add the exhaust and air intake and you might as well get a supercharger kit if someone will just develop one now,,lol. Personally, I think those of us that are looking to mod the TL-S should start writing/emailing/calling aftermarket companies like Jackson Racing to get their development going for said items.

well u can get headers and sc when it comes out, but i think what a lot of people are forgetting is that the headers will give you 32hp to the WHEELS! according to comptech dyno... if TL-S gave you 260 to the wheels, it would be making about 347hp at the crank... so consider that 32hp is actually about 43hp at the crank, and not only does that put ur car above 300hp, it also adds up to about $23/hp, its not cheap, but i dont think its that expensive or unreasonable...

The headers will fit so will the exhaust we are waiting to hear from Comptech to make certain the springs and sways will work but according to our conversation with Comptech today it looks like it's a go.The TL/S we are bringing to the New Jersey meet is the service managers demo.I will be installing a ground effects package, spoiler,Comptech exhaust lowering springs possibly headers etc.See you there.Jens

So with the headers, cold air, and exhaust, 300hp's wouldn't be out of the question I suppose.
That's great news!

It would be worthwhile to see a dyno run. Recall the exhaust backpressure is already reduced in the TL-S. Not sure how much more these mods may add.

The headers have been dynoed. Go to CompTech's website they have it there. Plus the people who have installed the headers have also had their own dynos and they show gains within 2-4hp of what CompTech claimed!! About $1000 for around 30hp to the wheels for a mod, that's a bargain!! A CAI will get you about 8-12hp, also been dynoed. The exhausts, however, are more for looks and sound, not much increase there b/c the stock exhaust system is pretty well tuned.....
