header sound difference

im about to purchase OBX headers, but i have a few questions about the sound of it. i have k&n filters and removed resonator. will there be a huge increase in sound? does the headers make it sound really harsh and obnoxious or deep and husky?

just wanted to know before installation. not just OBX but for any headers.

my comptech intake and comptech headers..all I can say is wow. the car just rumbles at idle like it's got a wicked v8 under the hood..on a quiet night if you walk up to it idling it just sounds mean. but ask around others may have a different opinion, but for me they sound strong at all RPM ranges with the exception of very low speeds where the car lugs out in 5th gear. and the exhaust gets rough. thats comptechs. I've heard others mention that other brands of headers have very nasty resonance (spelling?) sounds that drive the owner crazy.
Good luck.

once you hit vtec the headers give a nice growl... I have the comptechs and love the way they sound. No need for an exhaust in my opinion after the headers. I like my car to be quiet but this was a good change.

you must have an intake or something, because headers DONT change the sound at all...maybe 5% at most. But the intake will change the sound and new mufflers will, but just adding headers wont change a thing

I have the comptech icebox with really does not make a difference in the sound in the car. I did notice a difference in sound with the headers and I am sure a number of other people would say the same.

Header = no sound...unles obx, you MIGHT get some resonance in the low rpm but no big deal
Header + Intake = same shit ex intake growls
Headers + Exhaust = (if catback) you're in for a hell of a nice sound. if axle, its all about the mufflers

enjoy this stuff, its fun. keep it safe
