Question Head side airbags

How come there is no Head Side Airbags in 2002 TL? I hear that Acrua 2003 will be redesign, if so does anyone know they'll include side Head airbags ( Air curtains )? This is an important safety feature that are on most cars today, such I35, ES300 and even the new Altima.

With this price range, I don't think Honda would put curtain airbag on the TL/CL. Plus, I notice Honda's been skimpy on safety features. Like the TL don't have front seatbelt pretensioner until 2002 model, so as the driver side bag didn't have dual-stage til 2002. I feel that if Honda meant to make this ride in the near-lux market, throw in some advance safety features if not real wood trim. My 2 sense.

Remember the other cars that you just mention are all new designs. The TL will get them when they redesign it again.
The 2000 TL got front sideairbags with passenger height & position sensors. It also got rear child safety-seat anchors. The other cars did not have this a few years ago. So untill the TL is totaly redesigned you won't see this. When the RL is redesigned the safety features on it will filter down into the TL/CL models this will cut down on cost. Even some of the safety stuff on the other cars mention is optional ACURA will most likely make it standard like our Xenon High Intensity Discharge (HID) Headlights. This is also a safety feature on our car.
