Question Head Count: Who's had creaking seats fixed?

I'm really curious to know. And, if any of you know the Acura repair bulletin so that I can tell the guys at Keyes Acura.

The creaking from the seatbelt anchor and the creaking inside the seat are both really really annoying (and intermittant).

When your seat creaks, does it make one creak short sound or is it multiple? like a rocking chair or something? I heard mine once in a while when I stop hard or soemthing. So I am wondering if it is the same as what guys are referring to.

There is a service bulletin about it. They have a special wrap that they put on some items in the seats. Saw my dealer working on one Tuesday. Not sure what the Acura service bulletin is though.

The creaking happens for a variety of reasons....if I move around, if I accelerate from a dead stop, if the the seat is sitting in the lowest position to the floor board, there are two things that can be done and they involve lubing the anchor that the seatbelt locks into when you wear it, and openining up the seats and doing some kind of wrapping to the metal bars that rub against the plastic parts. So, there are two repair bulletins but the genius' at Keyes Acura in Los Angeles cannot figure out what they are.

I fixed my seats with some Mobil 1 synthetic lubricant, same thing as WD-40. The sunroof creaking I had Acura do that.

Well, I'll be by the dealership Saturday to pick some Hyde Feed up for the seats... I'm probably going to detail the car on Saturday or Sunday (weather permitting). I'll check up on this and try to get a TSB # if I remember.....

Mine were when you shift around in the seat, stop on hills, lean back. I guess it was kinda like a rocking chair. It was mostly when the back of the seat moved at all. They replaced the hardware that holds the back of the seat up and the rails on the floor that the seat moves on.

Can someone post the actual TSB from Acura? I called my dealer asking him to do the seat squeak fix before I pick up my car so I don't have to make an extra trip and he said he's never heard of that problem. Acura of Springfield, NJ.
If I could get a copy of the Bullitin I could bring it down and show them before I pay for the car.

I'm #9! My service dept lubed the seatbelt anchor (with the red button) and that worked...for a while. Now it's back and just like you guys say, whenever you turn, brake, move, it squeaks So irritating with the stereo off. I'm gonna make sure they fix it right when I go for my next service. BS!

ok everyone,
there are several sources where these sounds come from.
1. from within the seatbelt fastner.
2. from metal clips inside the seat.
3. from seating foam rubbing against metal inside the seat.
These are the 3 that I found. I think the best way to fix it is to do it yourself since many dealerships don't care or don't have the time to fix rattles/creaks. I posted instructions and pictures here: http://www.acura-tl.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/000272.html
Or maybe you guys can print the post and take it to the dealer to have it fixed.

Had mine fixed but now it's coming back again. Guess I have to bring it back now. If I get that dam mini van as a replacement car again I am going to drive it through their show room floor. I will make sure I don't hit any TL's though. (LOL)
