went to the shop i had my springs and sways installed yesterday and asked the guy how much itd cost me for him to install some headers for my car...first he is like "tl right?" and im like yea and he says yea you wouldnt want to do that to your car...youd have 3 times the cabin noise, engine check lights comin on, major increase in heat under the hood and i think he said something about th ecu.....can u guys give me opinions on this...i know the noise would be louder but its in a good way right? i mean have u guys had these problems? i dotn know why he would tell me all this if he is the one gettin paid to do it..but anyway lemme know...thanks

i have headers and the sound is not really different. just a bit nicer :p no lights on, the engine temp is fine and my ecu is running great.

he doesnt know sh1t.

agreed.... countless people on here have headers. most of them have no problems. the ones that do are small and isolated....

 

beyond bull****ting! how about he doesn't know his ass from an o2 sensor!:o

 

The only thing is that sometimes my check engine light comes on when I rip it for a while... But its gone after a day or 2 of normal driving...

 

oh so that would be normal and it wouldnt mean anything is wrong? can i prevent it?

 

just put the stuff on and dont worry about it. the guy is about as dumb as a box of rox, oh and find someone different to put them on if he thinks the stuff he told you

 

i think he said it was so loud because of the headers having single wall piping..or something to that affect haha i was like say what? haha

 

you wont hear them well if there CT any ways

 

he prob was thinking you are going to be cheap and get the cheap crap... it has happend but once again you get what you pay for... so if you are cheap you will get a piece a crap... just like most neons... they are made cheap... and they do have a lot of problems.. thats why we got TL's we wont have as many problems as the neons.. well maybe just our tranny's and rotors

 

If thats what happens when that guy installs headers, Idgo somewhere else.
