Have you had your tranny replaced?

There are several thousands members on this site. Maybe this poll will give us some rough indication of how common transmission problems really are.

Not accurate. I suppose not. But then again, how would we really know? Acura claims only a small percentage of the cars have been effected and nobody believes them.

So far, 17 responses with 2 having more than 1 replacement tranny.

I guess my concern on whether or not to buy a TL is what are the odds that my tranny will go bad and then what are the odds that once replaced, it will have the same problem 20k later.

The TL seems like a wonderful car and I don't mind too much the possible brake problems or other issues that come on slowly. I just don't want to be stranded in BFE while on vacation with the wife .

So if the actual likelyhood that my tranny will go bad is 10%, I might be able to live with that considering how much more I like the TL than the ES300 or even the G35.

You will always see far more problems, or people making some things out to be bigger issues than they are. with a car on a forum with the results not being accurate.

yes there are issues with the TL's tranny. Earlier ones failed more often because acura never updated any parts. They have since started updating parts and the rates have gone down (atleast that seems to be the trend) the latest revisions havent had any failures here "yet" and only time will tell if they work
