I have a 99 TL and I went up against the same swap. He took me easy by a car and a half. I asked the guy at the next stoplight, "whatcha got in that thing?" It was obvious he had a swap.
I imagine a TLS will have a very good chance I guess it would depend on the driver.
ps my only mods are a short ram intake.

Tl's have nothing on a swapped honda. My little brothers 91 Civic h/b with b16a swap blows it away, that's with an all motor. Now after his turbo,it'll smoke it by 5 cars.My tl's for pimping only.

For a TL-S? Depends on other mods beyond a simple swap...I doubt anyone could answer your question based on that variable alone, as I doubt anyone really does this swap without adding the extra icing to go with that cake!!!

It is very possible, but again, they usually swap with other mods in tow such as h/i/e/ecu, etc...
I know a guy with one that also has a small turbo at 5.5 psi running sub 13.5...And honestly, besides the engine and wheels, that 'ol 'teg is a p/o/s sled...

i doubt its a full b20 motor...it's too big to fit in the engine bay of a civic. It's called a frankenstien swap. LS Integra Block and CRV Head. It's a killer combo for civics.

B16 and B20 is just the name/number of a honda motor. b16 is a 1.6 liter engine and b20 a 2.0 liter. The you also have a j32 engine (seen in the TL/CL) and a j35 (i think) seen in the RL/MDX.
for nissans they have VQ35 and other designations and toyotas have like JZ... I always forget.
As you can reason, dropping a bigger or at least more powerful engine into a smaller car will usually make it faster. Hence why people swap parts (or whole engines sometimes) into civics and tegs....especially with the weight of these cars being so light. We have some people getting 3.5 liter engines in the TL/CL community by using the j35 block parts of an MDX.

Honda has motors by series, B, D, H, K
A b20 is really not that good of a motor by it self, it is a non vtec motor, but they most comonly use to do a b20/b16a hybrid, using the b20 long block and a slitly modified b16a head to make a high TQ high HP motor that will take a lot of PSI. But I dont think that you would have a problem racing someone with just a plain b20 swap. B16a, B16a2, B18C1 or B18C5----- Is a whole other story.VTec high rev motor's.

b20 in a civic is the equivalant to doing a 3.5 swap in our car. its putting the larger block on a different head. the b20 swap was one of my favorite swaps for years until i found out about the 3.5 liter swap a year ago in our cars. i dont know to much about engines so watching people do things like this is so interesting to me.

That'd be a sweet Azz setup... G35 w/ RB26DETT... or maybe a G35 w/ SR20 swap... You should try to create that! You'd blow everyone away! I think you'd be the first if you ever did it.
Kinda rice I know but has anyone thought of a RB26DETT on a TL? That's be awesome, it'd blow everyone away, and no one would know except for the roar of the engine so if someone revs on u you'll blow their mind and think twice b4 racing a TL

My cost for a B18/GSR motor and tranny with ECU upgrade w/install was $3500. And especially not bad considering they were very scarce engines to come across then. Which is why it wasn't a tough decision to buy my SC for the TLS. The B-series swap with ECU upgrade make for a very nice pocket rocket. And like R10apple said, you don't do those swaps w/o some goodies. The porting and polishing, h/i/e/skunk2ecu, ACT clutch. Before I sold it I was considering upgrading the internals but got it rid of it instead. Lots of money for such little car and people would easily argue that I should have bought something faster to begin with. But I was in school then, and it was so fun squeezing the power of it. Oh and surprising the crap out of people. 9 out of 10 now a days, most of them have added a turbo or are spraying.

i used to own a 90 integra with a b20 motor in it and , it had nothing on the TL..You will beat him no problem , even stock..It has allot of torque off the line , but no top end what so ever..He may take you off the line , but by second gear it will be over..

How much horses can the B20 make ?
The 2.0 L from CRV has 140hp.
The 2.0 L from the S2000 has 240hp.
The B18C from the Type-R has 190hp.

type S lady, so you did a engine swap on your tl's? How much faster and powerful is it from the engine of the tl's? How much hp's do you have now? I'm just curious and interested on doing something like that. I have a 99tl and I would love if I can upgrade the power on it, I really like a good S/C or some ways of making it faster, I'm crazy about speed on my tl.

well i have a 99 TL and my cousin had a bonestocc 92eg hatch with a b20 setup and he can take me. even with a TL-S you would get spanked. the perfect setup would be a b20vtec. well he went with a turbo boosting 5 pounds everythign else stocc and hit a 13.5 and he even let off at the end, with a system and full interior. if he boost it up alittle more to about 7 pounds and added a vtec head he would easily hit 12s.
