Has anyone changed there differential oil?

I am going to change my tranny fluid this week and was also wondering if anyone has changed the differential fluid. If so, where can i find the drain and fill bolts? What gear oil should I use?

isnt the differential part of teh trans, it used the same oil and when u drain the trans oil your also clearing out the differential oil as well. might be wrong but im pretty sure that its in the same housing and uses the same oil

Differential- a drivetrain gear assembly connecting two collinear shafts or axles (as those of the rear wheels of an automobile) and permitting one shaft to revolve faster than the other

No differential in a TL- FWD.

There isnt a separate differential on the TL. Its FWD so its all built into the trans. Use Honda ATF or Amsoil ATF. Not a weighted oil.

Changing trans fluid is easier than changing the oil. And i hope the dealer actually didnt flush the trans.

It's bad for it. If anything drain and fill 3x3. If you change it once a year you don't really need the 3x3.

Why is that? Forgive my ignorance, what's 3x3- change 3 qts. 3 times?

Its bad because it dislodges things, and honda Recommends Against it.

Yes drain fill is just that Drain 3 quarts drive to mix and heat up, repeat 3 times. Only 3 quarts will come out of our trans at a time (of 7.6)

Get yourself a service manual or talk to the service dept. Honda does NOT want flushes. Acura/Honda dealers/service depts are supposed to do Drain Fills.

I've been checking Ebay hoping to catch one used to save some $ but no luck yet. There's always ones on there for 1st gen & 3rd gen but no 2nd gen- ?
