i was just wondering what are some of you guys and girls opinions of "beating" on your car? to what extent of driving hard will result in your car life ending sooner than later, how hard can the TLS really be drivin?

well i dont know bout u guys but i think the car can take quite a bit of beating... theres this place called the S turns and as the name implies, its very windy. Going downhill is an adrenaline rush and so far ive only been able to go down them at 60mph... only 60 cuz of the stock tires, i can feel them hitting the limit . my friend was able to zip down with 225/45/18 Zrated at 75mph with impressive grip. as for how hard to take it, why not test the car out and see what its made of. you only live once

I beat mine up also badazz!!!! I don't feel sorry for it though I constantly drive in SS, then slap the biyatch in automatic then pass some minivans in second gear, then downshift into first and floor it around a turn squealing tires like a pig, rev it all the way up until redline, shift to second hog it some more, go around a turn and push the ebrake and whip some SH|T. Prettly much everthing except get air jumping the car. I can't wait to get some real mods on my car. I'm sure the tranny will last for a while... knock on fake acura wood
Have fun and rag her when you feel the need, she won't bite

IMO, our engines are probably the BEST you will get, Think about it HODNDA F1 engines rev upto 14,000 - 16,000 rpm... so I'm pretty sure our Type S engine is designed to handle hard driving. As long as you maintain it should have no problems.

As for the tranny no comment.

ah now i don't feel so bad. I love to put that sucker in SS mode and pump everything i can get outta it sometimes. I tell ya sometimes u get the right song on the radio and it'll turn ya into a totaly different person, making u try to hit the cars limits. I love it! Only question in my mind is whens the tranny gonna blow

Well theres nothing you can do, if the tranny is on the path to failure.. its on the path to failure. My 00 TL-P is leased . and the lease is up in about a year. So if the tranny fails it fails i dont care. I beat the crap out of it sometimes, running into 6300 shift, screaming around those s-bends, cutting up those apexes like jack nickelson did to that bathroom door with that ax in the shining. I'm very unblessed with the stock tires.. but the fronts are bald smooth, i've seen my wear bars for about 3 months now, shes squeals going around bends at 30, i need to get them rotated. the best are the deserted highway off ramps.. hit them squealing making the 270 degree bend with the tail barely staying inline with the nose. I love it , i'll pay for it some day, either with my life or with my car.

You are a dangerously stupid driver.. get some new tires man... or do you prefer to lose control and kill someone

hey now, its never to that point, these are back roads, when i'm alone in the car, and no one else is around, this is 2nd & low 3rd gear stuff, not upper 3rd (80-90mph). and i'm scheduled for the dealer next week. the questioned asked hard driving, i simply answered.
