It happened today!!!!

Well if you all remember, a couple of weeks ago I asked if tranny's typically go out on our cars or are there any that make it. Well I'm one of the ones that didn't make it. Over the last couple of weeks, I've been noticing the tranny dragging going into 3rd. I was hoping it was possibly due to the weather or maybe I was just imagining it! Yesterday on my way home I got over to pass someone and the rpm's jumped to 6, but the speedo stayed right where it was. So this morning I figure I'll drive it to work and then park it this evening, the TL had other plans....so I made a u-turn and headed back to the house. Didn't quite make it before all the gears went out. So I tried reverse, and yup, it worked So i drove it backwards to the house! I was in the neighborhood @ this time. So, anyone have a tranny they wanna get rid of??

Will an 01 TL-S engine & tranny swap right in? I mean do I have to get new wires or computer pieces to get it to work?

The 01-03 CL-S and 02-03 TL-S engine/tranny (same engine and tranny) is a direct swap. There are some skilled individuals on this website and V6 P. N E T that you should talk to. They will tell you everything that you need as far as parts go to do your conversion.. Good luck!

one more reason i dont regret the new 5 speed lude.

my car never gave me any tranny issues, but im sure eventually it would have.

i dont think i'll ever break this h22 or tranny.

good luck with the swap, whatever itmay be

except the 05 carried the same case issues...
I think gen2 warranty units were a testbed for the change, and then late 05-06s got the new design,,,but thats a guess,, not fact based on anything but my desire to be heard~

Wrong..

https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-cl-problems-fixes-70/another-solution-my-auto-cl-guys-758220/

p.diddy over on the CL side had a 07-08 tranny put into his CL-S.. with minor modifications.

It is not completely a direct drop in there are some parts (trans range switch, trans filter housing) that need to be transferred and a couple holes that are cast into the housing need to be tapped, the bosses are there they just need to be drilled and tapped.

Triptronic is all a matter of ECU, the physical trans has nothing to do with it.
.. this is what needs to be done to make it work.
