thought i'd share this info....if anyone knows any additional information, let me know. i called them b/c i was curious about when the new update would be and had a short conversation with one of the techs regarding new updates for TL's.

version 2.061 was supposed to be released by alpine elec. via their website on february 1st...however, that's been delayed till april. (it's included on brand new TLs) i talked with alpine about this and they said this latest release if not much different from 2.05b at all.

what they did was added a few more cities (about 5, of which the only one I can remember is Flint, MI)....and didn't update any new streets or update areas that are already existing on the 2.05b dvd....it was recommended to me that I not buy this new update b/c it wouldn't help me. i live in Scottsdale (NE corner of Phoenix) and they finished the 101 loop around the city last summer but it's not reflected on my 2.05b map. i asked her specifically about they she said phoenix has not been updated in this latest release.

later this year (no estimate but probably after september), they are planning a major update since there hasn't been one since september 2001. this may include the graphical interface like the dvd on the 2003 MDX. obviously though, no voice activation.

Who knows, they wouldn't say.....but there are numerous issues with that. They may be fixing their long list of incorrect directions, they could just be lazy.....
