Just got my H&R Stage 2 Sport Spings installed last week. It had a rating of 1.75/1.75 in (front/ back) drop for the TL-P, but i have a TL-S. The drop seems much lower than 1.75/1.75...TL-S is heavier, but i don't know by how much. I'm always scared of tire rubbing, i can barely fit 1 finger through between the fender and the tires. Scraped the front bumper numerous times. But handling is MUCH better...i just found out how MUCH stock tires SUCK!!! Ride quality is about the same, you woun't notice the difference when you drive, just maybe the bumps or pot holes..but when you drive, you don't really notice or concentrate on feeling the bumps.
The first week i thought the springs were really bumpy, but it was all in my head, i ask the other passenger and they didn't really notice any difference in ride quality..
hope i help

love the H&R's. the front does scrape once in a while but if you're experienced with lowered cars then you're used to going on driveway ramps at a diagonal. speed bumps? no problem...i took some today and i was thinking how many times i have posted saying how they don't bottom out yet people are still afraid.
ride comfort is the same though i think the stock shocks will need to be replaced in a year or so. the comfortable ride is such that i am rethinking my intentions to switching to tanabe sustec pro-street coilovers.
and the prices i've seen for comptechs versus H&R are somewhat of a joke considering that comptech must outsource for their springs unless they have their own equipment to temper the steel, shot peen them inside and out, pre-set them and then powder-coat them...think about it...you have no idea where those springs come from...

It was 2 years before I had my 96 Nissan 240SX SE dropped with RS-R springs that dropped about 1.75/1.75 and I drove it for another two years with no sign of shocking giving out anytime soon, Id say, dont worry too much about it...

would you guys consider H&R OE or Sports? Seems like some people like the OE better. My car is fairly new, but I don't think the drop on the OE is enough for me. Too subtle, don't you think? And the rear has a larger drop than the front? I'd think it would look weird. I'm opting for the H&R Sports now unless someone can give me a good reason not to get them.

we installed the OE Sports (thats what H&R calls them) on another TL after a customer saw my car in the parking lot of my friend's shop. he said he didnt want to go too low. after they were installed...we all had the same reaction..."Doesn't look lowered..." the customer was at best disappointed with the perpetual wheel gap and further frustrated when his car was parked next to mine...the point? why bother...

OK..we all talk about the 1.0 OE HR drop..
and the sport 1.75 even.. and race which is 2 or more..
NOW..is there any aftermarket springs out there..that'll do 1.25...1.5.....somewhere around there????
1.5-1.5 or 1.25.1.25....1.35-1.35 inch? if i install the bodykit..1.75 would be very low right???

HA 65MPH:
I'm also thinking about getting some H&R race springs for my 1999 TL. Did you have any problems with rubbing? I have only stock rims. Do you have a camber kit? Did you get an alignment
adjustment? How's your factory shocks holding up? Any info
you provide would be much appreciated! Thanks!

I have noticed I need a alignment. my rear tires lean into the car. I dont think I will need a camberkit. But I plan on getting a alighment this week and will post the results If i need a camber kit. OH YES AND NO RUBBING TOO. on stock 16's or stock TL S Rims.

Hey HA 65MPH:
One quick question: with the H&R race springs, it's a 2.2" drop front, 1.75" drop rear (I believe). Does the front end of the TL look more lower than the rear? What I'm trying to say is, does
the lowering look even, or does the front look more lower? I
can't tell from your pic. If it doesn't look even, what do you think about the H&R sport spring (stage 2), which is 1.75" drop front and rear? Anyone here with experience with stage 2 springs?
Wheel well gap? Thanks in advance!

H&R Race springs
OK all, I've decided. I will definitely get the H&R race springs (stage 3). Now I have to get them. I could go to a local mod
shop in my area, but they charge approx Cdn $380 (including
labour and taxes). Anybody know if I can get the springs
installed cheaper than that? I live in Vancouver, BC. If I can
buy the springs cheap, I might just take em to the shop and
pay them labour to install. Comments welcome!
Patrick
PS once I have em installed, I'll you all of you know how it turns

H&R race springs installed!!!
Just got the H&R race springs installed this afternoon. Man,
can't believe the handling! You're right, HA 65MPH, handling
really good. I can't believe I can actually feel the road.
According to the mod shop, the springs will settle another
quarter of an inch in about 1 week's time. If need be, I will
take it in for alignment adjust.
No honking big wheel gap!
Definitely recommend race springs to all, as sport and OE
will not give that lowered look. Now, to save up for more
after market goodies!!!
